Personal Injury

"Personal injury" is a legal term for an injury to a person's body, mind, or emotions that results from another person's intentional or negligent act (or failure to act). Bodwin & Associates, P.C. has extensive experience litigating personal injury cases. Due to our attorneys' extensive experience, the firm is exceptionally good at evaluating clients' cases, advising them on their options, and taking their cases to trial if necessary to achieve the results clients seek. While no guarantees can be made regarding the outcome of a case, Bodwin & Associates, P.C. can guarantee that our attorneys will do their very best to represent your interests and to bring your case to a successful resolution.

Bodwin & Associates, P.C. typically (though not always) takes cases on a contingency basis—i.e., the firm's fee is a percentage of the award clients receive to compensate them for their personal injury, plus any out-of-pocket expenses the firm incurred in litigating a client's case (e.g. filing fees, deposition transcript orders). If the firm is unable to recover an award to compensate a client for his or her personal injury, then the client will be asked to pay for no more than the firm's out-of-pocket expenses.

Among the personal injury law claims with which our attorneys can assist clients are claims arising out of:

• Auto accidents
• Airplane accidents
• Assault and Battery
• Bicycle accidents
• Construction accidents
• Accidents arising from failure to maintain safe premises
• Accidents caused by negligently designed or manufactured products
• Intentional Infliction of Emotional Distress
• Medical malpractice
• Railroad accidents
• Slip-and-fall cases

When an employee is injured on the job by the negligence of another individual or company, that employee may have both a workers' compensation claim and a personal injury claim. For a free consultation regarding your personal injury claim, please contact Bodwin & Associates, P.C. at 312.207.2008.

Workers' Compensation

A serious workplace injury can saddle you with steep medical bills and rob you of your ability to work. But the law offers remedies that can help you get back on track and look forward to a stable financial future.

An employee has a workers' compensation claim when he or she has sustained an injury arising out of and in the course of his or her employment. A workers' compensation claim is not a lawsuit filed against the employer: It is an application filed at the Illinois Workers' Compensation Commission for benefits available to the injured worker under the Illinois Workers' Compensation Act, including, but not limited to: payment of all reasonable and necessary medical expenses, choice of treating physicians, temporary total disability payments while the injured worker is unable to work, and permanent partial disability or wage differential benefits based on the injured worker's ability to work in the future.

Bodwin & Associates, P.C. helps injured workers with workers' compensation claims and Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) claims. When an employee is injured on the job by the negligence of another individual or company, that employee may have both a workers' compensation claim and a personal injury claim. For a free consultation regarding your workers' compensation claim, please contact Bodwin & Associates, P.C. at 312.207.2008.
